Spiral Zone Zone Blaster Bomb Launcher Backpack (1987)

The 1987 Tonka Zone Blaster Bomb Launcher Backpack was a standalone heavy-weapons accessory set for the Spiral Zone toy line. Like the Spin Shot, it was designed to upgrade any standard 7-inch Zone Rider or Black Widow figure with additional artillery equipment.

The centerpiece is a bulky gray mechanical backpack with an over-the-shoulder launcher, designed to fire large fictional “Blaster Bombs.” Its heavy-demolition design gave figures a dedicated long-range attack system while maintaining the military-tech aesthetic of the Spiral Zone line.

The original carded accessory set included the Zone Blaster Bomb Launcher backpack, a secondary laser rifle, and a Top Secret Tech File featuring fictional weapon specifications, blueprints, and Spiral Zone artwork.

Because the Zone Blaster Bomb Launcher was sold separately from the action figures, complete examples are more difficult to find. Collectors looking for a complete set should verify the backpack launcher, laser rifle, and original Tech File are all present.
