Spiral Zone Spin Shot Mobile Artillery Backpack (1987)

The 1987 Tonka Spin Shot Mobile Artillery Backpack was a standalone accessory set that allowed collectors and kids to upgrade any 7-inch Spiral Zone Zone Rider or Black Widow figure with additional heavy firepower. Sold separately from the figures, it was part of Tonka’s specialized equipment assortment.

The centerpiece is a gray plastic artillery backpack featuring a rotating projectile-launching mechanism. Its modular design attaches to the figure’s back and provides a distinctive mobile artillery weapon system that fits the military-tech theme of the Spiral Zone toy line. The original carded set included the Spin Shot artillery backpack, a supply of compatible plastic projectiles, and a Top Secret Tech File containing fictional technical information and weapon specifications.
