Spiral Zone Razorback (1987)

Razorback, also known as Al Krak, was released by Tonka in 1987 as a core member of the villainous Black Widows in the Spiral Zone toy line. Known as the "Black Widow Bladesman," Razorback was an aggressive hand-to-hand combat specialist who relied on bladed weapons to battle the heroic Zone Riders.

The 6- to 7-inch action figure features the mutated appearance associated with the Black Widows, including pale skin, dark eye markings, and yellow eyes. He wears a striking purple-and-dark-gray tiger-stripe cloth jumpsuit with dark gray snap-on armor featuring molded ridges that emphasize his menacing, punk-inspired design.

Razorback came with an extensive arsenal, including a combat helmet, weapon-storage backplate, two swords, hatchet, billhook, crossbow, laser pistol, and bladed wrist bracers. The package also included an audio cassette, custom decals, and a Top Secret character dossier, making him one of the most heavily armed figures in the 1987 Spiral Zone line.

Today, the 1987 Tonka Spiral Zone Razorback figure is popular with Spiral Zone collectors, vintage Tonka enthusiasts, and 1980s action figure fans. Finding a complete example is particularly difficult because his numerous small weapons—including the swords, hatchet, and wrist blades—were easily lost during childhood play.
