Spiral Zone Lt Hiro Taka (1987)

Lieutenant Hiro Taka was released by Tonka in 1987 as a core member of the heroic Zone Riders in the Spiral Zone toy line. Known as the team's "Infiltration Specialist," Hiro Taka was a skilled martial artist and stealth operative who represented Japan within the multinational fight against Overlord.

The 7-inch action figure features a highly articulated body dressed in a real-cloth dark green and black camouflage jumpsuit with gray-and-black snap-on armor designed to protect against the Spiral Zone's mind-controlling fog. His distinctive head sculpt, dark hair, and serious expression give him a recognizable appearance among the Zone Riders.

Hiro Taka came with an infiltration helmet with red visor and antenna, tactical backpack, specialized rifle, flexible power hoses, decals, a Top Secret dossier, and a character-themed audio cassette. The combination of fabric clothing, removable armor, and specialized equipment reflects the highly detailed design of Tonka's 1987 Spiral Zone figures.

Today, the 1987 Tonka Spiral Zone Hiro Taka figure is a popular collectible among Spiral Zone fans, vintage Tonka collectors, and 1980s action figure enthusiasts. Complete examples are difficult to find because the small weapon, fragile helmet antenna, and rubber power hoses were easily lost or damaged during play.
