The Auto Grappler Search & Rescue Backpack is a vintage 1987 accessory set released by Tonka for the Spiral Zone toy line. Designed as a separately sold upgrade for the heroic Zone Riders, the set adds specialized search-and-rescue equipment to the line's approximately 7-inch action figures.

The vintage Tonka Auto Grappler Backpack includes a detailed gray plastic backpack, a deployable mechanical capture drone connected by a cable, a “Top Secret Tech File” insert, and a custom sticker sheet. Because it was sold separately rather than packaged with a standard figure, complete examples are difficult to find, making the 1987 Auto Grappler Search & Rescue Backpack a desirable collectible among Spiral Zone collectors, vintage Tonka enthusiasts, and 1980s action figure collectors.
