The 1984 Mattel She-Ra: Princess of Power Glimmer is a Wave 1 5.5-inch figure known as the “guide who lights the way.” She combines a sturdy plastic action-figure body with rooted, pink-lavender hair and a metallic silver bodice with a removable pink-and-silver fabric skirt and collar. Her translucent staff and removable headpiece glows in the dark, reflecting Glimmer’s light-based powers.
Glimmer originally came with a glowing staff, glowing headpiece, fabric skirt, fabric collar, styling comb, and mini-comic. As an original Wave 1 release, she is an important vintage Princess of Power figure that helped establish Mattel’s action-figure and fashion-doll hybrid design. Complete examples retaining all clothing, accessories, and the original mini-comic are especially desirable to collectors.
