Transformers Generation 1 Joyride with Hotwire (1988)

1988 Transformers G1 Joyride is an Autobot Powermaster that transforms into a teal and crimson Baja buggy. His white Photon Blaster mounts on the vehicle-mode roof, while the included Hotwire Powermaster engine unlocks Joyride’s transformation into robot mode. The figure can technically accept a Decepticon Powermaster engine, but it will not activate the transformation.

Joyride includes his Nebulan Powermaster partner Hotwire, who functions as the key to his transformation mechanism. The mold was later redecoed in Japan as the transtector for Ranger and released unchanged as the mail-away Ranger Joy Ride. With his distinctive Baja buggy design and Powermaster gimmick, 1988 Joyride remains a notable vintage Transformers G1 Autobot collectible.
