1984 Transformers G1 Jazz is an Autobot Car that transforms into a Martini Racing Porsche 935/76 race car, based on the Porsche that won the 1976 World Championship for Makes Mugello Circuit race. He comes with a silver Photon Rifle, shoulder-mounted spring-loaded missile launcher, and three silver missiles. Like other original 1984 Autobot Cars, Jazz received a heat-activated rubsign in 1985.
The Jazz toy originated from Takara’s pre-Transformers Diaclone Porsche 935 and features an undocumented steering function when the hands are detached from the shoulders in vehicle mode. The mold was later reused for Stepper, the Japanese-exclusive figure later known as Ricochet. With its authentic Porsche racing inspiration and iconic G1 design, 1984 Jazz remains one of the most recognizable vintage Transformers Autobot collectibles.
