1984 Transformers G1 Hound is an Autobot that transforms into a Mitsubishi Jeep J59. He comes with a silver machine-gun turret, spare tire, gas can, Hologram Gun, poseable machine gun, and a shoulder-mounted missile launcher with three missiles. The U.S. release features weakened launcher springs for safety, and Hound’s transformation results in a noticeably smaller robot mode compared with other Autobot Cars.

The Hound toy originated as Takara’s 1982 Diaclone J59 Jeep, which included a pilot figure and different decals before being adapted for Transformers. The vintage G1 release also has several sticker-placement quirks, including a waist sticker that was intended to be cut in half and incorrectly numbered arm decals in the instructions. The mold was later reused for e-HOBBY Detritus, making 1984 Hound an important early Transformers G1 Autobot collectible.
