Dune Feyd (1984)

The 1984 LJN Dune Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen action figure is one of the most memorable and unusual collectibles from LJN’s 5.5-inch Dune toy line. Based on Sting’s portrayal of Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen in David Lynch’s 1984 Dune, the figure is notable for its likeness to the musician and its bizarre movie-inspired accessories.

Like other figures in the line, Feyd features a Battle-matic action feature. A lever or button on the figure activates a spring-loaded twisting or slashing motion, giving the character a built-in combat gimmick.

Feyd wears dark blue and black Harkonnen combat armor, rather than Sting’s distinctive arena costume from the film. The most infamous feature is his unusual accessory set, which includes a knife and a caged “milked cat.” The cat references the disturbing scene in Dune in which Thufir Hawat is forced to extract an antidote by milking a cat.
