1987 Transformers G1 Hardhead is an Autobot Headmaster that transforms into a Cybertronian self-propelled artillery gun. He comes with his Headmaster partner Duros, also known as Tank Commander, and two Shatterblaster rifles. Duros can ride inside Hardhead’s cockpit and transforms into Hardhead’s head, activating the figure’s Tech Spec meter when attached to the robot mode.

Hardhead’s spring-loaded Tech Spec gimmick displays different levels depending on which Headmaster partner is used, making it compatible with other Headmaster pilots. The chest panel protecting the mechanism is prone to breakage, so collectors should handle it carefully. With his heavily armored military design, artillery alternate mode, and classic Headmaster functionality, 1987 Hardhead remains a distinctive and sought-after vintage Transformers G1 figure.
