Bravestarr Neutra-Laser (1986)

The 1986 Mattel Neutra-Laser is a large electronic role-play weapon from the vintage BraveStarr toy line that brought the series' signature Space Western sidearm into interactive play. Using infrared technology, the battery-powered blaster could fire invisible beams up to approximately 15–30 feet and produce electronic shooting sounds. Players could aim at the infrared target on an opposing Neutra-Laser, with a successful hit triggering a distinct electronic defeat sound.

The Neutra-Laser also included a spring-loaded target mount for practicing with BraveStarr action figures. A standard 8-inch figure could be placed on the mount, and a successful infrared hit triggered a mechanical release that launched the figure from the platform with a "boing" effect. The system was also compatible with the line's electronic Laser-Fire backpacks, adding another layer of interactive play.

Mattel produced the Neutra-Laser in heroic blue and villainous black versions, allowing players to choose sides in a BraveStarr-themed infrared battle. Its combination of electronic gameplay, role-play design, and compatibility with the 8-inch action figures makes the 1986 Mattel Neutra-Laser one of the more technologically ambitious accessories from the vintage BraveStarr line.
