Bravestarr Stratocoach (1986)

The 1986 Mattel BraveStarr Stratocoach is one of the largest and most impressive vehicles in the vintage BraveStarr toy line, built at a massive scale to accommodate the series' 8-inch action figures. Combining an Old West stagecoach with futuristic technology, the Stratocoach features a yellow and brown carriage with oversized wagon wheels and a mechanical hover-to-wheel transformation. Operating the rear handle flips all four wheels flat underneath the vehicle for airborne hover mode.

The Stratocoach also includes a detachable Turbo-Mule, a silver robotic space vehicle that connects to the front of the carriage. When detached, the Turbo-Mule functions as an independent ride with its own wheels and seat for BraveStarr figures. The carriage also contains several accessories and storage features, including a Strong Box with three translucent Kerium nuggets, a swivel-mounted Neutra-Laser chain gun, and a detachable translucent radar console.

For collectors, the 1986 Mattel Stratocoach can be difficult to find complete because its small accessories are easily lost and its internal spring mechanism can weaken over time. A complete example should have the Turbo-Mule, Strong Box, three Kerium nuggets, Neutra-Laser, radar console, and a functioning wheel-flipping mechanism. Its enormous scale, transforming hover feature, detachable vehicle, and extensive accessories make the Stratocoach a standout vintage BraveStarr collectible.
