Bravestarr Fort Kerium Command Center (With Bank & Jail) (1986)

The 1986 Mattel Fort Kerium Command Center with Bank & Jail was the largest and most ambitious playset in the vintage BraveStarr toy line. Mattel offered the Command Center and Bank & Jail as separate modular releases, but this combined Fort Kerium mega-playset created an entire New Texas frontier town that could transform from an Old West-style settlement into an armored sci-fi fortress.

The set consists of three main sections: the Command Center, featuring a watchtower, laser rifles, telescope, flagpole, wanted posters, and command station; the Kerium Bank, with a secure vault and mechanical plunger that opens the vault and releases Kerium Nuggets; and the Planetary Jail, which includes a locking cell and a mechanical jailbreak feature.

Fort Kerium's signature feature is its Fortress Mode. The boardwalk sections fold upward to create protective walls, Bank and Jail signs flip into armored plating, wanted posters become shields, and hidden defensive weapons deploy throughout the structure. This combination of modular construction, interactive action features, and a dramatic town-to-fortress transformation makes the 1986 Mattel Fort Kerium Command Center with Bank & Jail one of the most significant and collectible BraveStarr playsets.
