Bravestarr BraveStarr And Thirty-Thirty (1986)

The 1986 Mattel BraveStarr and Thirty/Thirty 2-Pack is one of the most sought-after releases in the vintage BraveStarr toy line. This deluxe boxed set pairs the 8-inch Marshal BraveStarr action figure with his iconic cybernetic horse companion, Thirty/Thirty, recreating the central partnership from the Filmation animated series.

The set is known for its impressive 20+ piece accessory loadout. BraveStarr includes his cowboy hat, vest, Neutra-Laser pistol, Transfreezer rifle, and scabbard, while Thirty/Thirty comes with his Sarah Jane blunderbuss, barrel and blaster attachments, saddle, saddlebags, harness, bridle, reins, and stirrups. The set also includes four tiny Kerium Nuggets, a sticker sheet, and an instruction manual.

Thirty/Thirty could transform from a four-legged robotic horse into a two-legged humanoid gunfighter in the cartoon. Mattel's 1986 toy captures his horse mode particularly well, although the standing mode looks more like a horse rearing on its hind legs than the fully humanoid character seen in the series.

For collectors, complete examples are difficult to find. The small reins and bridle pieces frequently broke or disappeared, while the four tiny Kerium Nuggets were easily lost during childhood play. A complete BraveStarr and Thirty/Thirty 2-Pack with all original accessories is therefore highly desirable among vintage BraveStarr collectors.
