Bravestarr Sand Storm (1986)

The 1986 Mattel BraveStarr Sand Storm action figure is one of the most distinctive villains in the vintage BraveStarr toy line. Based on the Sand Walrus alien from Dino-Texas, Sand Storm served as a brutish enforcer for Tex Hex. His unusual design features red scaly skin, massive tusks, a gaping mouth, reptilian fins, and a bulky custom torso with a detailed black-and-red cybernetic chest plate.

Sand Storm's internal action mechanism prevents his head from turning, leaving him permanently facing forward. His signature Vapor Spray-Blast gimmick uses a water reservoir inside the torso, filled through a rubber plug on his back. Pressing the rear button releases a fine mist of water from his mouth.

The included gold Vapor Blaster adds a second function: inserting it into Sand Storm's mouth converts the mist into a focused stream of water. With its unique walrus-inspired alien sculpt, custom body design, and unusual water-spraying feature, the 1986 Mattel Sand Storm figure remains a standout vintage BraveStarr collectible.
