1986 Transformers G1 Groove is a Protectobot who transforms into a Honda Goldwing GL1200 police motorcycle. He comes with twin Vaporator cannons that remain attached during transformation and a Photon Pistol. As a Scramble City-style combiner, Groove can form any Defensor limb, although his standard position is Defensor’s right leg.
The original Groove features a gold-painted die-cast metal chest, while later releases changed the chest paint to silver but retained the die-cast construction. Released in 1986–1987, Groove was also part of the vintage Transformers promotional Decoy campaign and was later reused to create the 1992 Operation Combination Sparkride figure.
