Getaway is a 1988 Transformers G1 Powermaster Autobot that transforms into a racing-modified white Mazda RX-7 FC3S. His signature Powermaster gimmick uses the included Nebulan partner Rev to unlock the transformation into robot mode, while his plasma-shell shotgun can attach to the vehicle roof for storage. The figure can also accept other Autobot Powermaster engines, although a Decepticon engine will not activate the transformation.
Known for its distinctive engineering, the G1 Getaway toy has several unusual construction details, including separately molded lower legs connected by the spoiler and a layered back assembly. Originally developed as an early Powermaster concept, the mold was later released in Japan unchanged as Lightfoot. Today, Getaway is a notable Generation 1 Powermaster figure prized for its unique gimmick, licensed-style sports car alternate mode, and historical importance to the Powermaster design.
