The Black Hole Charles Pizer (1979)

The 1979 Mego The Black Hole Charles Pizer 3.75-inch action figure was released in Wave 1 of Mego’s original The Black Hole toy line and was widely available in the United States and international markets. The figure features the classic 1970s Mego space-crew aesthetic, with a molded beige and gray uniform and highly articulated construction.

Like other human figures in Mego’s 3.75-inch Black Hole series, Pizer features exceptional poseability for its era, offering more flexible articulation than many competing figures of the same scale, including Kenner’s contemporary Star Wars figures.

For collectors, the most common issue is broken or missing thumbs, caused by the tightly molded hands. The internal O-ring and hip-joint mechanism can also deteriorate or stretch with age, resulting in loose or floppy joints. Today, a vintage Mego Charles Pizer figure with intact thumbs, tight joints, and complete original parts is particularly desirable.
