Ratbat / Frenzy is a Generation 1 Transformers Mini-Cassette two-pack released in 1986. When Hasbro introduced Ratbat as its only new Decepticon cassette for 1986, Frenzy replaced Laserbeak as his pack-in partner. This made Frenzy the longest-running original G1 figure, remaining available from his 1984 debut through 1987. Like other G1 cassettes, Frenzy transforms into a microcassette compatible with the Soundwave and Blaster toys and comes with two “Thruster Guns.”

The Ratbat and Frenzy G1 set is especially known for its weapon variations, with both silver and gold chrome weapons produced; gold is most associated with the set because Ratbat was depicted with golden weapons in fiction. Late 1986 releases also introduced material changes, replacing Frenzy’s die-cast toes and shoulder hinges with black plastic and his light-blue thighs with plastic. Some later versions also omitted the thigh and shin stickers, making these variations noteworthy for Transformers G1 collectors.
