One of the most important things about a toy line is when it first began. So, when were the first Inhumanoids action figures made?

The Inhumanoids Animated Series

Sunbow Entertainment and Marvel Productions released the animated series, Inhumanoids, in 1986. The show follows the scientist-superhero group, Earth Corps, battling subterranean monsters called the Inhumanoids. Elemental beings known as the Mutores assist the Earth Corps. Flint Dille created the show, Larry Parr wrote it, and Ray Lee directed it. There was a total of 13 episodes. The show ran from June to December of 1986.

The First Inhumanoids Action Figures

Hasbro introduced the first Inhumanoids action figures to the world in 1986, the same year as the animated series’ release. This venture was an exciting project launched by Hasbro to extend the popularity of the animated series to the realm of toys. The idea was to let children bring the captivating tales of the Inhumanoids to life with their own hands, which is exactly what the action figures achieved.

The Inhumanoids toy line stood apart due to its unique concept. Hasbro crafted each action figure with meticulous detail, mirroring their animated counterparts. The figures were divided into two groups – the heroic Earth Corps and the villainous Inhumanoids. The intricate designs, exceptional articulation, and the larger-than-typical size for the era of the figures made these toys an instant hit among kids and collectors alike.

Bio: I am the founder and owner of Wheeljack’s Lab pop Culture and Toy Shop. My vision has always been to reunite customers with their favorite childhood toys and pop culture, triggering fond memories, and reigniting their imaginations. Every day, I work in the “lab” where it’s Christmas 365 days a year. I scour the internet, like when we had the Sears Catalog of yesteryear, for the next great treasure. Then, I await the arrival of the postman as if he were Santa Claus himself and helping collectors worldwide with their versions of Christmas. Every day as a vintage toy buyer is an absolute joy!
