The Top Ten She-Ra: Princess of Power Characters

She-Ra: Princess of Power is an action, adventure, Sci-Fi, superhero animated television series created by Filmation as a spin-off of the He-Man and Masters of the Universe media franchise. In She-Ra: Princess of Power, Filmation attempted to create a series for young female children after the success of the He-Man and Masters of the Universe animated television series.

Debuting in 1985, She-Ra: Princess of Power followed the adventures of Princess Adora and her transformation into She-Ra. The animated television series also focuses on the struggles of a group of heroes (the Great Rebellion) trying to obtain their freedom from the evil Horde that ruled their planet Etheria.

10. Bow

Bow from She-Ra: Princess of Power

Bow is a famous archer, the best archer in the whole of Etheria. He possesses different trick arrows, which he uses to create illusions. Bow is also a fierce member of the Great Rebellion, a talented musician, and a master illusionist. He has a good relationship with animals which he displays by how he treats his horse, Arrow, and his relationship with Kowl.

Then, Bow is a brave and loyal warrior, but his pride and impulsiveness get him into trouble. The evil Horde regularly abducts him, so he often helplessly waits for She-Ra to come to save him. Bow also harbors romantic feelings towards She-Ra, but she never reciprocated his advances.

9. Swift Wind/Spirit

Swift Wind from She-Ra: Princess of Power

Swift Wind, the alter ego of Princess Adora’s horse, Spirit, is She-Ra’s unicorn steed that flies her to battle and her other adventures. The transformation from Spirit to Swift Wind endows the horse with a winged unicorn’s countenance and speech ability.

The series also depicts Spirit with having a beloved mate named Starwind and a young colt as his family. There are no major differences in the behavioral characteristics of Spirit and Swift Wind, as Spirit is already courageous.

8. Kowl

Kowl from She-Ra: Princess of Power

Kowl is a creature that is the last of his kinds, as his species has become extinct. He possesses the countenance of somewhat of a fusion of an Owl and a Koala, which brings about his name Kowl. Kowl’s wings are like large ears. Then, he can speak.

Filmation created Kowl as a source of comic relief for the animated series; hence, he features funny and sarcastic characteristics. He also dabbles in the dark comedy, seeming rude or ill-timed sometimes. Kowl is an ever-present character amongst the Great Rebellion. However, just like He-Man’s Cringer, he is a coward that runs away from a battle. Kowl often hides under a table with Cringer while a war was going on around them.

7. Glimmer

Glimmer from She-Ra: Princess of Power

The gorgeous Princess of Bright Moon, Glimmer is the daughter of King Micah and Queen Angella. Glimmer oversaw the Great Rebellion before Princess Adora took over and helped establish the group as a formidable force.

Glimmer possesses the distinct ability to control light. She has mastered the ability to use light as a weapon by emitting pulses of light to disorient and even blind her adversaries or fire laser-like beam of light at them. Princess Glimmer could also make herself and other objects are invisible by refracting away rays of light, and she could also illuminate dark paths with her radiant light. Hence, others in the rebellion have dubbed her as “The Guide Who Lights the Way.”

Princess Glimmer also has bits of magical abilities which she inherits from her mother. So, Princess Glimmer is an indispensable member of the Great Rebellion and one of its most powerful.

6. Frosta

Frosta from She-Ra: Princess of Power

Frosta is the elegant Queen of Castle Chill on the magical Kingdom of Snows on Etheria. Queen Frosta is one of the most powerful Rebellion members because of her distinct ability to manipulate and control ice and snow. As a powerful ice sorceress, Frosta was able to freeze and unfreeze any object. So, she regularly uses her powers to conquer members of the Evil Horde. She could also mold ice like a flying saucer and use it as a temporal means of transportation.

Queen Frosta also was head-over-heel in love with She-Ra’s twin brother from Eternia, He-Man. Unfortunately, he never reciprocated her love since He-Man saw her advances as aggressive.

5. Flutterina

Flutterina from She-Ra: Princess of Power

Originally, Flutterina had no unique abilities or a royal ancestral bloodline. Instead, she was a poor girl working in the Sand Valley of Castle Candore on Etheria. Following her encounter with She-Ra and her journey to the Crystal Castle, the poor servant girl transformed into Flutterina by a magical cocoon.

After the transformation, Flutterina gained a beautiful and incredibly powerful set of butterfly-like wings, powerful enough to blow away her enemies. Her transformation also bestowed her with the ability to transform her entire body into a butterfly. She could also communicate with and control butterflies. With her newfound abilities.

Then, Flutterina joined the freedom fighters and became a member of the Great Rebellion. She uses her powers to support the fight against the Evil Horde by using butterflies to spy on and gather information from the Horde’s base of action.

4. Entrapta

Entrapta from She-Ra: Princess of Power

In Filmation’s She-Ra: Princess of Power, Entrapta was a villain. She is an indispensable member of the Evil Horde. She even holds the role of being the villainous group’s master technician and chief inventor.

As her name implies, Entrapta is responsible for some of the most brilliant machinery used by the Evil Horde to create traps or ambushes in the war against the Great Rebellion to keep hold of power. Hordak, the evil leader of the Horde, used more technology than magic. Thus, Entrapta was the brilliant mind behind his weapons. The horde credited her for the invention of the Trapper Tank, amongst others.

3. Castaspella

Castaspella from She-Ra: Princess of Power

Castaspella is the gorgeous Queen of Mystacor, a magical land filled with a lot of magically endowed individuals in Etheria. She also has a throne set on a floating island.

Although Castaspella is a member of the Great Rebellion, she also had her villainous counterpart in the Evil Horde’s sorceress, Shadow Weaver. Castaspella and Shadow Weaver had a long history as they were both practicing apprentice sorceresses from the great Etherian Sorcerer, Norwyn. Following Hordak’s arrival on Etheria, Shadow Weaver betrayed Castaspella and her master Norwyn by revealing the location of the Council of Kings to Hordak. Thus, Shadow Weaver aided him in becoming the supreme ruler of Etheria. Shadow Weaver then joined Hordak and since then became at odds with Castaspella.

2. Hordak

Hordak from She-Ra: Princess of Power

Hordak is the universal villain in all the She-Ra: Princess of Power media. As the leader of the Evil Horde on Etheria, Hordak is the conqueror of Etheria. Meanwhile, his throne is in the Fright Zone. Hordak, in this media, often opts to use technological weaponry over magic as he fights against the Great Rebellion, a group of Etherians that opposes his rule.

Hordak originally came from Eternia. However, after he and his then apprentice, Skeletor, abducted the infant Princess Adora, his apprentice failed to escape capture. Thus, Skeletor gave up Hordak’s secret lair. Having nowhere else to go, Hordak escaped the planet and arrived at Etheria. With the help of Shadow Weaver and his army of Evil Horde, Hordak overthrew the leaders of Etheria and became the supreme ruler of the planet, with only the Great Rebellion as his adversary. Hordak, however, has another master from who he receives orders and takes instructions.

1. Princess Adora / She-Ra

She-Ra from She-Ra: Princess of Power

Princess Adora/She-Ra is the main protagonist of She-Ra: Princess of Power media.

At the beginning of the series, Princess Adora was a Force Captain, a high-ranking member of the Evil Horde that ruled Etheria. She later learned that she is the lost sister of Prince Adam from the planet Eternia. Unfortunately, Hordak and Skeletor had abducted her as a baby. So, she fell into the hands of the Horde as a baby.

With the evil Hordak raising her, he did all he could to ensure she followed the evil path. However, once Princess Adora discovered who she was, she forsook the Evil Horde to join the Great Rebellion. Then, Princess Adora obtained the Sword of Protection, enabling her to become She-Ra, the most powerful woman in the universe.

She-Ra’s cast of characters has entertained audiences for decades. Since their characters enraptured the hearts of many, DreamWorks recently revived the world of Etheria to create She-Ra and the Princesses of Power.
