TMNT

First up, we will mention the ever-so-popular Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toys. These toys released alongside an animated series, as did many of the other toy lines of the decade. While the comic book released first in 1984, the animated series then released thrree years later in 1987 and the toys released the following summer in 1988.

Produced by Playmates toys, these awesome mutant turtle characters hit incredible popularity among many children all around the world. These toys follow the story of four humanoid turtle brothers who are led by a mutant rat, Splinter, as they protect New York City from villians.

This storyline demonstrated through the comic books and the cartoon made the toys that much more popular and iconic. When they first released in the 80s, they were incredibly popular and sparked the interest of people all around the world. It exploded so much that it became a cultural phenomenon that helped define the toy industry and culture of the time.

Transformers
