Tomy has been one of the most noteworthy toy companies from Japan, even before they merged with Takara. When the company was founded in 1924, the company was known as Tomiyama, named after its founder. However, they decided to shorten the name to just Tomy in 1963. This company created several memorable toy lines, like Starriors and Tron. However, the company eventually merged with Takara in 2006, where it became a part of Takara Tomy.
