Description

About Where This Came From: First, this came from a 1970-1990’s Tonka designer executives home. He passed some time ago, this collection includes MANY product samples, packaging prototypes, etc. I will likely miss some and classify them as just basic stock. Some may have generic price tags as he was going to sell them shortly before his death. So this at worst is a standard product, could be something more. If questions ask, I got around 1,000 items in this collection. Comes as shown.

Condition: The title is a bit misleading, but hard to quantify what this is in so few characters in the title. In a nutshell, this is what makes the steel molds that made these figures in the 1970’s. In theory the buyer could make silicone molds and make new heads. The following is a bit more detailed. After the hardcopy is approved, a hardcopy is sent to the Orient to make the final steel injection molds. Injection molds are a negative copy of the final figure. Electrical discharge machining (EDM) assists in translating the hardcopy into steel mold cavities. EDM goes by many names such as spark machining, spark eroding, die sinking, wire burning or wire erosion. EDM is a manufacturing process where the desired shape is obtained by using electrical discharges (sparks).
