1983 Tonka Play People Set 2045 Pumper Team Fire Engine Fireman Set PROTOTYPE

1 in stock

About Where This Came From: First, this came from a 1970-1990’s Tonka designer executives home. He passed some time ago, this collection includes MANY product samples, packaging prototypes, etc. I will likely miss some and classify them as just basic stock. Some may have generic price tags as he was going to sell them shortly before his death. So this at worst is a standard product, could be something more. If questions ask, I got around 1,000 items in this collection. Comes as shown.

Condition: Clearly marked “project number 83-18”, so I guess project number 18 in 1983. “Item Number 2095 Fire Pumper. Notes Play Peoples. Marked SAMPLE, Not dimensionally accurate. Sales sample. Not for sale. Return sample to Tonka Toy R&D.” Now looking at the 1983 play people set, I can see this one is different as it has chrome on the cab, and does not have the 911 sticker. I’d like to think this is a hardcopy, but I’m not sure. There is glue on it (with purpose) the third axle is screwed on (on purpose), not painted like a finished toy, and the interior is the pumper section appears to be resin which was used for hardcopies. if this was an action figure I’d say a hardcopy. This is probably the only one of these in existence. Comes as shown.
