In 1987, Hasbro created the Visionaries: Knights of the Magical Light toy line. Additionally, Sunbow Productions created a cartoon series that helped market the toys. These toys featured the heroic Spectral Knights and the evil forces, the Darkling Lords. In addition to the basic figures, these toys also featured vehicles like the Dagger Assault.
