1997 Hasbro Toy Fair Catalog – MicroVerse

Join us on a journey through the 1997 Hasbro Toy Fair Catalog, which offered a first look at Hasbro’s latest toys. Some of the toys that Hasbro produced in 1997 included Star Wars, Jurassic Park, and Beast Wars Transformers.

Hasbro offered a world of micro-fun with the MicroVerse line of toys which they featured in the 1997 Toy Fair Catalog. With other pocket-sized playsets sweeping the toy aisle in the 90s, it was only natural for Hasbro to join in. So, they created multiple MicroVerse sets that featured their hit toy lines.

First, Hasbro previewed #55020: MicroVerse Mega Playset Assortment – Batman & Robin Batcave. In this set, Gothan City opened up to reveal the Batcave. It featured a vehicle elevator, a freeze chamber, and a Batcomputer console. It also included exclusive figures and vehicles.

Next, they promoted #50015: MicroVerse Ultra Playset Assortment – Dreamworks Jumbo Jet. This toy featured lifelike electronic sounds and lights.  This Jumbo Jet also had an opening cockpit, a storage area, removable engines, and retractable landing gear. It required 2 “AA” alkaline batteries.

Then, this page featured #55044: MicroVerse Adventure Airport Playset. This playset had electronic landing lights that illuminated the runway. There was also a guidewire landing system that came with the exclusive jet. The periscope viewing tower placed players in the action and doubled as a megaphone. Then, there were three MicroVerse airport vehicles, six mini-figures, and a multi-level airport tower with an elevator. This playset was storable and portable, so it could go anywhere. Notably, it required 3 “AA” alkaline batteries.
