1986 Coleco Rambo Toy Fair Catalog – Rambo

Explore the pages of the rare 1986 Coleco Rambo Toy Fair Catalog with our high-definition scans. This catalog focused on the new toy line for 1986: Rambo. However, there were also clues to the plans for other toy lines like Sectaurs.

New for the 1986 line-up, Coleco presented the toys based on the smash-hit movie, Rambo, in this Toy Fair Catalog. While audiences first met Rambo in the 1985 movie, he was set to hit toy shelves in 1986. Since the movie had been R-rated, Coleco opted to concentrate on the new cartoon series that would appeal to younger viewers. So, these toys featured characters from the Force of Freedom and S.A.V.A.G.E.

This 1986 Coleco Rambo Toy Fair Catalog page presented one of the S.A.V.A.G.E. members: Sergeant Havoc, whose code name was classified. This man stood 6’1” tall and weighed 190 pounds. Otherwise, he had several distinguishing physical characteristics like short cropped brown hair and stripes tattooed onto his left arm. He was a former Drill Sergeant in the free world before he was court marshaled. From that point, he lent his skills in terrorist/sabotage tactics, demolitions, kidnapping, and more to S.A.V.A.G.E.

SERGEANT HAVOC was one mean fighting machine. He loved all aspects of battle like the smell of gunpowder and the sound of automatic weapons discharging. Some say his best friend was his AK-47.

The deceitful HAVOC was loyal to no man, except the scheming GENERAL WARHAWK, leader of the worldwide terrorist group known as S.A.V.A.G.E Like the rebellious army he belonged to, SERGEANT HAVOC called no country his home. His past as a drill sergeant-turned-spy and his current allegiance to the evil GENERAL WARHAWK gained HAVOC the reputation of an international criminal.

Each time HAVOC and RAMBO clashed, the contest had been a rippling muscle match. HAVOC boasted that he can beat any man, but RAMBO had always mailed HAVOC back to the General, postage due. As S.A.V.A.G.E. prepared to mount its next assault, SERGEANT HAVOC was more determined than ever to destroy the one man who stood in his way: Rambo.

About Our Coleco Toy Fair Catalog Scans

To promote their upcoming slate of products, Coleco handed out catalogs to toy fair and other event attendees like dealers and retailers. Each catalog was filled with information about their newest toys, even ones still in development. Thus, they were often provided the first looks at action figures, playsets, vehicles, and more from their lines. Thus, they have become valuable and rare collector’s items.

These Coleco Toy Fair Catalogs featured toys from their beloved lines. For instance, the Sectaurs, who combined insects with superheroes, appeared in multiple catalogs. Likewise, Coleco produced and promoted the Rambo toy line, which focused on the cartoon series. There were also many vehicles and toys from the Starcom toy line.

Coleco used in-production prototypes in their images as these catalogs were prepared before the lines were released. This meant that the featured toys often differed from the retail releases. Moreover, toys sometimes appeared only in these catalog pages, as they were canceled or never hit retail store shelves.

While Coleco only handed these booklets out to trade professionals, we have now made them available to all. You can explore the toys featured in these catalogs with our Coleco Toy Fair Catalog Scans. This is a rare treat since catalogs like these have become increasingly difficult to locate with each passing year.
