LJN continued to share the excitement of their new toy line that brought WWF action home, the Wrestling Superstars, on page 55 of the 1985 Toy Fair Catalog. After Richard Derwald of Buffalo, NY came up with the idea, he sold LJN on the concept of wrestling toys. Along with the action figures, LJN also produced bendies and thumb wrestling. This line went strong until LJN closed its toy division in 1989.

Here, LJN presented #5452, the WWF Bendie Main Event Gift Set. These sets featured some of the best “Main Event” match-ups in wrestling, with the good guys pitting against the bad guys. They also came with 45-minute audio cassettes of live “blow by blow” commentary. Moreover, these sets featured Championship Belt Buckles. Fans could find sets of either Hulk Hogan & Big John Studd, Rowdy Roddy Piper & Paul “Mr. Wonderful” Orndorff, or King Kong Bundy & Andre the Giant.
