LJN proudly presented one of the first toy lines that brought the excitement of the WWF home, the Wrestling Superstars, on page 45 of the 1985 Toy Fair Catalog. After Richard Derwald of Buffalo, NY came up with the idea, he sold LJN on the concept of wrestling toys. Along with the action figures, LJN also produced bendies and thumb wrestling. This line went strong until LJN closed its toy division in 1989.

Here, they presented #5422, the Sling ‘Em Fling ‘Em Wrestling Ring Featuring Mean Gene and The Sounds of Wrestling. This version of the wrestling ring included an action figure of the famous announcer, Mean Gene. It also came with an action-packed audio cassette that featured an actual match.
