Hasbro continued to feature their hit G.I. Joe: A Real American hero toys on page 88 of the 1985 Toy Fair Catalog. Even though Hasbro first introduced G.I. Joe in the 1960s, the toy line had disappeared by the end of the 1970s. Thanks to the persistence of Bob Prupic, his “Operation: Blast Off” led to the revitalization of the line.

First, Hasbro promoted #6069, the COBRA Ferret, which made tracks through thick brush and muddy marshes. This powerful four-wheel vehicle had “flexible, off-road” tires for all types of terrain. It came complete with fender flares, realistic steering columns, a rear storage cover, removable missiles, a side-mounted 20 mm cannon, and a rotating machine gun. It could also carry up to two COBRA figures, which were sold separately. Each assortment came with 12 pieces.

Then, they promoted #6078, the Armadillo Mini Tank, a super-armored mini thank that held tough against any offense. G.I. Joe maneuvered quickly out of sight and escaped the enemy in this elusive vehicle. Two additional Joes could ride on the skid and hang onto the roll bar. Meanwhile, the turret swiveled and cannon guns elevate. This vehicle carried up to three figures, sold separately. Each assortment came with 12 pieces.
