Hasbro once again focused on their hit toy line that they brought to America with the help of Takara, the Transformers, on page 65 of the 1985 Toy Fair Catalog. After a successful debut year in 1984, the Transformers showed no signs of slowing down in 1985. So, Hasbro released a huge roster of new characters for the line. These unique toys popularized and perfected the transforming robot.

On this page, Hasbro promoted #5735, The Transformers Triple Changer Assortment, toys that provided three times the fun. These Decepticon infiltrators confused the Autobots with their ingenious plots of waste and destruction. While Blitzwing changed from tank to robot to plane, Astrotrain transformed from space shuttle to robot to train.
Each of these triple changers came packaged with attachable weapons, a character bio, a Tech Specs chart, and a decoder. They also featured the special liquid crystal logo that proved each Transformer’s authenticity. These assortments came with six of each of the triple changers for a total of 12 pieces.
