Hasbro tail-ended their fun activities with their popular Lite-Brite sets on page 54 of the 1985 Toy Fair Catalog. Since 1967, Lite-Brite provided illuminating fun with its specialized colored plastic pegs. Once assembled onto the peg plate, users created bright pieces of art. While many created unique pieces of art, Hasbro provided a large array of template sets that featured popular characters.
So, Hasbro began by promoting #5455, the Lite-Brite assortment which included 400 plastic pegs in eight different colors, a peg plate, 16 color-coded pictures, and eight blank sheets for original creations. The Lite-Brite required a 25-watt bulb to function and illuminate the art. Each assortment came with 6 pieces.
Next, they promoted #5465, the Lite-Brite Peg Refills assortment. Understanding that children of all ages are prone to lose small pegs, Hasbro offered refill sets for their Lite-Brite set. Each of these refill packs came with 240 pegs in red, orange, yellow, blue, green, violet, pink, and crystal. Assortments included 24 of these refill packs.
