Hasbro continued to highlight the newest products for the G.I. Joe toy line on page 92 of the 1984 Toy Fair Catalog. After successfully launching in 1982, G.I. Joe became a phenomenal success that placed Hasbro on top. By partnering with Marvel, Hasbro created both a hit comic book series and television show that attracted new fans to the brand.
Here, Hasbro presented #6000, the Motorized Battle Tank (MOBAT), the ultimate action vehicle for the G.I. Joe Mobile Strike Force Team. This vehicle featured super-traction treads that gave this motorized tank the ability to climb over the toughest obstacles. It could move right, left, forward, and in reverse. It had a main turret that swiveled 360⁰ and supported the 90 mm movable battle cannon. Then, G.I. Joe figures could sit in the command turret. The MOBAT had a super-detailed body with grilles, hatches, and tools. The vehicle included the G.I. Joe figure, STEELER. While it required two D-sized batteries, they were not included. Each assortment came with 6 pieces.
