This 1983 Coleco Toy Fair Catalog page presented information on a licensed ride-on: number 1801, the Mr. Turtle Power Cycle. Little riders loved to pedal along on the beloved MR. TURTLE, which was made of sturdy polyethylene with built-in safety features. 9” direct drive front wheel, wide track rear wheels, contour seat, and sure-grip handlebars. So, it was built tough to last. Furthermore, it clicked when ridden. It was a perfect “first” ride-on.

Then, they promoted number 1826, the G.I. Joe Power Cycle. Little sidewalk soldiers would love this cycle with authentic olive-drab coloring and G .l. JOE decorations. About Our Coleco Toy Fair Catalog Scans

To promote their upcoming slate of products, Coleco handed out catalogs to toy fair and other event attendees like dealers and retailers. Each catalog was filled with information about their newest toys, even ones still in development. Thus, they were often provided the first looks at action figures, playsets, vehicles, and more from their lines. Thus, they have become valuable and rare collector’s items.

These Coleco Toy Fair Catalogs featured toys from their beloved lines. For instance, the Sectaurs, who combined insects with superheroes, appeared in multiple catalogs. Likewise, Coleco produced and promoted the Rambo toy line, which focused on the cartoon series. There were also many vehicles and toys from the Starcom toy line.

Coleco used in-production prototypes in their images as these catalogs were prepared before the lines were released. This meant that the featured toys often differed from the retail releases. Moreover, toys sometimes appeared only in these catalog pages, as they were canceled or never hit retail store shelves.

While Coleco only handed these booklets out to trade professionals, we have now made them available to all. You can explore the toys featured in these catalogs with our Coleco Toy Fair Catalog Scans. This is a rare treat since catalogs like these have become increasingly difficult to locate with each passing year.
